家长愤怒：南岸Brossard图书馆儿童区播放色情电影！

5月23日晚上8点45分，我带两个女儿去Brossard Georgette-Lepage图书馆去借阅儿童书籍。在儿童区的电脑屏幕上正在播放色情视频。色情视频显示两个裸体成年人发生性关系，整个过程高清近距离摄制并被放大，屏幕分辨率极高。

家长拍到的图书馆不堪场景

我6岁的女儿注意到了视频，并问我他们在视频中做什么？当我看到那个屏幕时，我很震惊。我问旁边的图书管理员，并得到以下解释：

我问：在这里怎么会发生这种事？
图书馆员回答：我不知道。我不知道之前谁登录过并使用过计算机。它肯定是被黑客入侵。这样的事情以前从未发生过。

这一事件对我年幼的女儿来说是一个重大的骚扰和侵害，如果不是我们在场的话，这也可能会成为对其他任何Brossard的居民，特别是对孩子们的骚扰。我对图书馆员现场的解释完全不满意，并希望采取恰当的行动通知有关负责人，包括但不限于市长和图书馆馆长。第二天，我和我的朋友起草了一封电子邮件，并通过Brossard市政网站上的“联系市长”页面发送。

《Pornography video played live at children’s section of Brossard public library》

On May 23 8:45pm, I brought my two little girls to Georgette-Lepage Library of Brossard, located at 7855 Avenue San Francisco, Brossard, QC, to borrow some kids’ book. There is pornography video playing live on one of the computer screens at the kids section. The pornography video shows two naked adults having sex, the sex activity was videoed closely and enlarged with high screen resolution.  My 6-year-old girl noticed the video and asked me what were they doing in the video? When I saw that screen, I was shocked. I asked the librarian on duty beside and got the following explanations:

Q: How could it happen?
A: I did not know. I do not know who logged in before and used the computer. It must be hacked. It never happened before. 

This incident is a significant harassment to my young girls and possibly harassment to all residents at Brossard, especially to the children. I was absolutely not satisfied with the explanation and would like to take proper action to notify the people in charge, including but not limited to the mayor and the library director. The next day, my friend and I drafted an email and sent through “contacting the mayor” page on the Brossard city website.

We did get an answer from the library director Suzanne Payette on May 28th with only copied and pasted paragraphs from “code de conduite” that does not bring any value to resolve the problem. What does it mean for “Pursuant to your request, the security of the firewall was reviewed.” ? What an “awesome” answer that shows plenty of negligence. 

- How this can happen? 
- Who should be responsible for the incident? 
- Who initiated to play the pornography video at the children’s section? Is that related to criminal purpose?
- Why the content filtering function is not working on the computer at the kids’ reading section?
- Why can’t the library trace and track the usage of the computer?
- What is the security procedure at the library to protect the young kids not harassed by any means?
- What will be the measurements taken to prevent similar incidents to happen in the future?

We wrote back to the library director to have further explanations but it has been over 10 days now and unfortunately we have got no reply so far. I have to express myself out loud on this matter to seek social justice and make my voice heard by relevant stakeholders and parties so that we can have a real satisfactory solution on this matter. This is not only for myself, but for all residents in Brossard. For sure, it will also have positive impact on protecting residents’ rights appropriately no matter where in Canada!

《Vidéo pornographique diffusée en direct à la section des enfants de la bibliothèque publique de Brossard》

Le 23 mai à 20 h 45, j’ai amené mes deux petites filles à la bibliothèque Georgette-Lepage de Brossard, située au 7855 avenue San Francisco, à Brossard, au Québec, pour emprunter des livres pour enfants. Une vidéo pornographique a été diffusée en direct sur l'un des écrans d'ordinateur de la section des enfants. La vidéo pornographique montre deux adultes nus en train de faire l'amour, l'activité sexuelle a été filmée de près et agrandie avec une résolution élevée. Ma fille de 6 ans a remarqué la vidéo et m'a demandé ce qu'ils faisaient dans la vidéo. Quand j'ai vu cet écran, j'ai été choqué. J'ai demandé au bibliothécaire de garde à côté et j'ai eu les explications suivantes:

Q: Comment cela pourrait-il arriver?
A: Je ne savais pas. Je ne sais pas qui s'est connecté avant et a utilisé l'ordinateur. Il doit être piraté. Ce n'est jamais arrivé avant.

Cet incident est un harcèlement important pour mes jeunes filles et peut-être un harcèlement pour tous les résidents de Brossard, en particulier les enfants. Je n’étais absolument pas satisfait de l’explication et j’aimerais prendre les mesures qui s’imposent pour en informer les responsables, notamment le maire et le directeur de la bibliothèque. Le lendemain, mon ami et moi avons rédigé un courriel et envoyé via la page «contacter le maire» du site Web de la ville de Brossard.

La directrice de la bibliothèque, Suzanne Payette, nous a répondu le 28 mai en ne copiant et collant que des paragraphes de «code de conduite» qui n’apportent aucune valeur pour résoudre le problème. Qu'est-ce que cela signifie pour "Pursuant to your request, the security of the firewall was reviewed.”? Quelle réponse "géniale" qui montre beaucoup de négligence.

- Comment cela peut arriver?
- Qui devrait être responsable de l'incident? Qui a initié la vidéo pornographique dans la section des enfants? Est-ce lié à des fins criminelles?
- Pourquoi la fonction de filtrage du contenu ne fonctionne-t-elle pas sur l'ordinateur de la section de lecture pour enfants?
- Pourquoi la bibliothèque ne peut-elle pas suivre l’utilisation de l’ordinateur?
- Quelle est la procédure de sécurité à la bibliothèque pour protéger les jeunes enfants non harcelés par aucun moyen?
- Quel sera le plan d'action pour prévenir des incidents similaires à l'avenir?

Nous avons écrit au directeur de la bibliothèque pour lui demander des explications supplémentaires, mais cela fait plus de 10 jours et, malheureusement, nous n’avons toujours pas reçu de réponse. Je dois m'exprimer à haute voix sur ce sujet afin de rechercher la justice sociale et de faire entendre ma voix par les parties prenantes et les parties concernées, afin que nous puissions avoir une véritable solution satisfaisante. Ce n'est pas seulement pour moi même, mais pour tous les résidents de Brossard. Certes, cela aura également un impact positif sur la protection des droits des résidents, où qu’ils se trouvent au Canada!

Je me réserve le droit de poursuivre en justice la bibliothèque et la ville de Brossard pour leur faute et leur incapacité à fournir les mesures de sécurité appropriées et la protection des jeunes enfants dans la fonction publique.
